Apple cider vinegar green smoothie

I’ve become a green smoothie junkie. I have one every morning before breakfast, it’s the best way to start my day. I experiment quite a lot with different ingredients. I like to keep my green smoothies pure and natural which means they only include lots of veges, one piece of fruit, herbs and water.

In the following smoothie, I experimented with adding apple cider vinegar and cayenne which I had never done before and I hit the bulls eye. It was so delicious, I wanted more. Here’s the thing, my morning ritual consist of 2 glasses of water upon waking up, followed by warm lemon water, followed by green tea with apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper, followed by a green smoothie. Wow, that’s quite a ritual, isn’t it? As I right this, it’s hard to believe that I do all that but I do. It has become a habit, and when I skip it I feel sluggish and blah.

Anyway, I thought I would combine the green tea combo with my green smoothie and surprisingly it was delicious. My best green smoothie to date, the apple cider vinegar and cayenne balances the flavours really well.

Apple cider vinegar smoothie

Ingredients

2 handfuls spinach
1 small cucumber
A handful of parsley
A handful of cilantro
1 green apple
1 lemon, peeled, deseeded
2 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
200ml water

Method

Chuck everything except vinegar and cayenne pepper in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass, stir in cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar and mix well. Enjoy
